Ricky Salmon is a freelance Newsreader for BBC Radio 2, and a Voiceover Artist with his own ISDN-equipped home studio. He runs his own company, BigFish Media Ltd, representing a selection of handpicked fellow voice-over artists.
Ricky has voiced countless radio commercials (including Absolute Radio, Capital FM, Classic FM and Wave 105), numerous corporate and training videos and far too many telephone “on-hold” messages to mention.
His corporate clients include Canon, Fiat, Dell, PC World, Eli Lilly, International Maritime Organisation, Honda, Viacom, Reuters, JC Decaux, Valuation Office Agency, KFC, British Airways, Caterpillar and Southern Water.
After qualifying as a Broadcast Journalist in Portsmouth in 1989, Ricky worked as a Presenter, Producer and Journalist at Power FM, Ocean Sound and South Coast Radio. He has since presented programmes for LBC, Play Radio and BBC Radio Solent, and read the news for BBC Radio 5, Virgin Radio and TalkSPORT.
Ricky has also been a television Continuity Announcer for Crime Plus and is a radio Continuity Announcer for the World Radio Network
Ricky lives with his partner in Woking, Surrey. In his spare time, he enjoys renovating his 1950’s house and garden, playing badminton badly, cinema and theatre, and real ale.
